The good news is that there is some money available. The bad news is that it offers a maximum of 4000 dollars per year. With current college tuition rates I don't think that this will cover all of the costs, even at a state college. Still, every little bit helps.

I was curious to see if the Congressional Black Caucus also had a program. They do, and details can be found at http://www.cbcfinc.org/CBC%20Spouses/Scholarships/index.html

They offer competitive scholarships for academic excellence, and for the performing and the visual arts. They don't mention the size of the awards for academic excellence, and so some more digging will be necessary. The awards in the arts are at the 3000 dollar per year level.
