Play is for the Game Design aspects of videogame creation.
The creation of videogames is a complex undertaking. We have chosen to adopt an approach that can offer a rewarding, rapid and concrete connection to designing and developing games. We have adopted and adapted rapid prototyping techniques. We start with "low resolution" paper-based games, and iteratively refine the rules.
We will start day one by making a set of games very quickly, and then playing those games in order to assess them.
Design is an iterative process that makes use of step-wise refinements. In this it is similar to the writing process that proceeds from rough draft to polished text.
